SuperCoach NBL experts The Basketball blokes name their top trade targets for round 14
It doesn’t matter if your team is charging or flopping, Benny, Banksy and Boydie – the Basketball Blokes – are here to assist with tips to help you rebound.
These are the players you should consider buying, holding and selling in your SuperCoach NBL side for round 14.

SELL
Sell of the week: Sam Waardenburg (CRN) $202,100 FWD/CTR
Some of you may have made a resolution to eat better to improve your overall health this year. Your first NBL SuperCoach resolution should be to cut back on the burgers, with Sam Waardenburg being the sell of the week. Sam has arguably been the most frustrating player in all of NBL SuperCoach this season. Many were tempted by the juicy doubles, hoping he would smash out whopper scores with his excellent time on court. This did not work out as planned; and with a round score of 10 it was nothing but buns from big Sam, who also left the game late and may be in some doubt this week regardless. You should flip Waardenburg this week.
Other players to sell
Cairns Taipans
Your second resolution is to cut back on the Cairns. Their unparalleled schedule of double-game rounds has concluded; and for those of us out there with a stack of Cairns are likely feeling nauseous. Taran Armstrong was never quite good enough to start. Bobi Klintman could follow up a 39 score with a 1. We had the Josh (Relton) Roberts trap game which was just enough to scare us off the other Sam (Mennenga), who followed up his 3-game average of 3.33 to average 25 SuperCoach points per game over his last 6 at a significantly discounted price. Start trading out your snakes and hopefully you will rise up the ladder. Patrick Miller and Tahjere McCall were excellent throughout and are priced well enough that they can now be traded to premiums from other teams with better schedules.

Players to monitor
Alan Williams (SEM) $422.000 CTR
Williams left the game early after fighting through a knee knock that had NBL fans fearing the worst. There is some doubt that his knee will allow him to play this week.
Luke Travers (MEL) $346,200 GRD/FWD
Travers was subbed out of their game immediately after taking free-throws very late in
United’s last contest. Travers had an x-ray on the ankle in question and it came back clear.
Travers has flown to Sydney with the team and the intention is he will play tomorrow night
against the Kings
HOLD
Hold of the Week: Sam Mennenga (CRN) $211,500 CTR
For the 11% of the competition that have enjoyed the last 6 games of Mennenga, he remains a viable bench option for cash generation. Having gained $45.7k last week, his negative Break Even will dictate that he continues to rise in price. Based on recent form, he may even be started when the Taipans have their final double-game round in round 16. With a league worst 4 single-game rounds from that point onwards, look to trade Mennenga to someone who can help you in your league finals, or that has a superior closing schedule.
Other players to consider holding:
DJ Hogg (SYD) $352,400 FWD
The man who would have been our buy of the week now reverts to a possible hold for those
that already own him. Hogg will miss Thursday’s clash with Melbourne United with shoulder
soreness. We have no indication about his status for the following game. Of note for those
considering holding is that the Kings also have a double game round the following week.
Jaylen Adams is a standout option from the Kings. Picture: Mark Evans/Getty Images
BUY
Buy of the Week: Jaylen Adams (SYD) $354,500 GRD
Adams gets the nod here based on form and considering only Sydney and Melbourne United
having a double-game round. Aside from Adams, if you can make up a starting 3 that
includes Luke Travers (pending health) and Jo-Lual Acuil (MEL) you should hopefully be
able to select either one of the cheaper Sydney players such as Denzel Valentine, Jaylin
Galloway or Alex Toohey; or opt for a premium player on a single- game round. Whilst ideally
you will have planned to have 5 starters on the double-game round, any United players you
select would ideally be as a one-week rental, as they follow this round with consecutive
single-game rounds.
Non-Sydney and Melbourne Buys
If you are looking beyond this round or that are already well set-up, here are some under the radar names that should be on your watchlist with useful upcoming schedules.
1. Sam Froling (ILL) $337,000 FWD/CTR
2. Gary Clark (ILL) $336,300 FWD
3. Tyler Harvey (ILL) $259,300 GRD
4. Justin Robinson (ILL) $257,800 GRD
5. William McDowell-White (NZ) $215,800 GRD
6. Mantas Rubštavičius (NZ) $192,500 FWD
7. Zylan Cheatham (NZ) $275,500 FWD
