Rebel Wilson reveals she’s gained 14kg amid busy work schedule

Rebel Wilson has revealed her stressful work schedule has led her to gain 14 kgs.

The Australian actress, 43, who lost a staggering 35kg during her ‘year of health’ in 2020, told followers on Instagram she was feeling “bad” about herself.

“Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14 kgs! It makes me feel bad about myself … it shouldn’t … but it does,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself in a hot tub aboard a yacht.

“I’m really proud of the work I’ve been doing on new movies and my memoir, it’s just been a LOT and I’ve lost focus on my healthy lifestyle. Anyone else going through the same thing?”

Rebel Wilson has revealed she’s gained 14kg.

Fans flooded the comment section in support of the Pitch Perfect star, assuring her she was “beautiful” no matter her weight.

“You’re gorgeous and fabulous at any weight. It sounds like you’ve been very busy this past year, including taking on the huge new role of motherhood. So try not to be so hard on yourself,” one wrote.

“You’re so beautiful, and you always have been! I see you, and I feel you! I’ve been up and down too. You’re an inspiration, regardless if you gained it all back. But you got this!” another said.

A third chimed in, “100% in the same boat, it is so hard to focus and prioritise health when juggling x 1000.”

Wilson, who welcomed her first child via surrogate, daughter Royce, in November 2022, later thanked supporters for their kind words.

“Update: I woke up this morning and read all your comments – they bring a tear to my eye. Thanks everyone!,” Wilson wrote in the caption.

The actress, who is engaged to fiancee Ramona Agruma, has been busy directing and starring in her latest film, The Deb, which is filming in Sydney. It marks her feature film directorial debut.

Wilson has been busy writing her memoir and making her directorial debut.

The Deb is based off a Sydney Australian Theatre for Young People stage show of the same name, and is being co-produced by Wilson’s Camp Sugar Productions and award-winning Australian producer Bunya Productions.

As for her memoir, Rebel Rising, which is slated for release in April, Wilson revealed in December the process of putting pen to paper on her book was “gut-wrenching and emotional”.

“This is how I’m spending my nights of my holidays,” she said in an Instagram video.

“You guys, I mean, I can’t wait for you to read this. You’re going to see a whole new side of me. Lots of funny stuff, and serious stuff … And hopefully you guys will love the book as much as I’ve loved writing it — although sometimes its been gut-wrenching and emotional.”
