‘Most definitely the last thing I expected to see.’

Kmart shopper has shared her concern after making a disturbing discovery under the shelving units of one busy Sydney store.

Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au, the mum said she stumbled across the find after her young daughter dropped her bottle while they were at the Broadway store.

She said the bottle rolled under a display in the toys section, but it was only when get got on the ground to retrieve the item that she came across the confronting sight.

“I was so shocked, most definitely the last thing I expected to see,” the mum, who asked to stay anonymous, told 7NEWS.com.au.

“I was pushing my daughter’s pram through the toys aisle and she dropped her bottle on the floor and it went under some shelves.

“I had to get on my hands and knees to look under there, as there was just a small opening — but what’s when I saw it.

“I’ve never seen such filth. There were so many toys and bits of food — and just so much dirt and junk.

“It was so gross, one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen. Just foul.”

Photographs supplied to 7NEWS.com.au by the shopper show the concerning levels of debris and rubbish lurking under the shelves.

“I threw away the bottle after seeing where it had gone,” the mum continued. “Even washing it wouldn’t have been enough.

“Who knows what else is crawling around their at night, with all that rubbish hiding in the store.”
