A moving moment caught on camera by Johnny Ruffo has been released, just weeks after his death.

The late singer and actor, who died from brain cancer on November 10, performed Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) with children from the Starlight Foundation and singer Budjerah in late September.

The former Home and Away actor was all smiles, performing on a toy xylophone in a video published by the Amazon Playmakers to raise money for the Starlight Foundation.

Ruffo’s family gave permission to have the heartwarming video shared to help raise money for the Starlight Foundation, who bring happiness to sick children and are recognised as an integral part of the healthcare system.

During the filming of the song, Ruffo said at the time that “being apart of this campaign for so many years, you would think I wouldn’t be surprised by what these kids can do but they continue to surprise me with their creativity.

“I was particularly excited to see the kids in action in the music video as being a singer myself, it was so incredible to see the joy it brought them.”

The general manager of Amazon Australia Matthew Benham said he admired Ruffo’s “passionate commitment.”

“He will be sorely missed and we feel humbled to have had him feature as part of the music video with the kids,” Mr Benham said.

“We thank Johnny’s family for letting us share this video to hopefully deliver joy to more kids across the country, something Johnny was so committed to.

“Johnny helped Budjerah and the Playmakers create something really special that we hope helps shine a light on the incredible work that Starlight does and provide some additional support.”

To help Starlight bring happiness to sick kids through their national hospital programs, for every view of the video on YouTube, Amazon Australia will donate $1 to Starlight up to $100,000. The video can be viewed here.

The Home and Away actor and X Factor singer lost his battle with brain cancer on November 10, aged 35.

His family announced his death in a heart-rending social media post, writing: “It is with a heavy heart that today we had to farewell our beloved Johnny.”

“Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family, Johnny went peacefully with the support of some incredible Nurses & Doctors,” the statement continued.

“He was a very talented, charming and sometimes cheeky boy.

“Johnny was very determined and had a strong will.

“He battled all the way to the end and fought as hard as he could. Such a beautiful soul with so much more to give.

“We all love you Johnny and will remember you for all the joy you brought to our lives.

“Rest easy.”
