actor Jason Momoa sparked outrage on a UK talk show when he quite literally turned his back on celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.

The Aquaman star, 44, appeared alongside Irish actor James Nesbitt, 58, and Lawson, 63, on Monday’s episode of BBC’s The One Show.

As he began talking about his Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom project, Momoa shifted to face Nesbitt, completely turning his back on Lawson.

His big frame turned at a 45-degree angle, he all but blocked Lawson from being part of the conversation.

When Nesbitt revealed that he had once auditioned for a role in Game of Thrones — the series that made Momoa famous — the Hawaiian actor propped an elbow on the back of the couch and leaned in towards Nesbitt, further blocking Lawson, who managed to maintained a polite smile.

Watching the segment, viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment with Momoa’s body language.

“Just switched on the telly. Why is Jason Momoa pointedly sitting with his back to Nigella Lawson??” one viewer fumed.

“I remarked on that, he’s rude,” one person answered.

“Rather rude, turning your back on Nigella,” one X user grumbled.

Referring to Momoa’s pink outfit, one viewer sniped: “Is Momoa upset that she dissed prawn cocktails when he has come dressed as one?”

“Awkward body language as Jason Mamoa turns his back on Nigella … what’s that all about?” asked another.

“Jason Momoa is being quite ignorant at times, especially when James Nesbitt is talking, as he has his back to Nigella Lawson,” another noted.

Viewers slammed Jason Momoa for his ‘rude’ body language towards Nigella Lawson.

One fan went straight to Lawson’s own X account, noting that they had enjoyed seeing her on the show, but remarking on Momoa’s actions.

“I did think Jason M was dreadfully rude, sitting with his back to you (though I got somewhat distracted, trying to figure out who his outfit reminded me of, eventually realised it was Cousin Eddie Griswold, in pink),” the fan wrote.

“I hope he was more polite in person.”

Another viewer noted that singer Grace Jones had once “slapped” interviewer Russell Harty on live TV for turning his back to her.

Neither Momoa or Lawson have publicly commented on their awkward TV moment together.

Momoa was in London to promote the new Aquaman film, appearing for a photocall along the Thames on the same day as his BBC The One Show appearance.
