Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi has written an emotional tribute to her parents as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Taking to Instagram, Chezzi shared a recent photo of mum Shelley and dad Peter, and a black and white photo from their wedding day.
“FIFTY YEARS ✨” the post was captioned.
“Congratulations to my mum and dad celebrating fifty years of marriage today.
“Still as happy and madly in love as when they first married in 1973.
“And so many said it would never last…
“They were just ‘too young’.
“And yet, here we are.
“The ultimate love story.
“They grew up together, great love and respect for one another, and created their own destiny … and yet they are so grateful to be able to grow older together when so many aren’t as fortunate.
“What a monumental milestone.
“I am just so humbled … and overwhelmed with admiration for them.
Chezzi then added: “In celebration of love — please tag someone below whose relationship or marriage you admire.”
Her followers loved the post, marvelling at the longevity of her parents’ marriage.
“What a great milestone that many don’t get to achieve,” one follower wrote.
“Congratulations and enjoy the celebrations.”
“I admire my beautiful grandparents, who would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on the 13th of this month,” another shared.
“Sadly, my dear Pop passed away this year in July, but they loved and adored each other.”
“Happy anniversary 🥂💖🥂💖 and my husband and I are very much like your mum and dad, we are 47 years (together) and married in 1976 and also very different and having a wonderful life,” wrote a third.
Added another: “We had our 25 yr anniversary 2 years ago. We work every day on our marriage and hope to be as happy and as in love as (your) parents look to be at 50 years married.”
‘That’s love’
Grant Denyer also took to the comments section with his thoughts, but they were slightly less elegantly expressed than some of the others.
“The greatest love story,” he wrote.
“The most supportive, loving and generous people you could ever meet.
“Hey Chez let’s go for 60 years!
“When your boobs are around your knees and my b*** are around my ankles 😂 That’s love.”
“My partner through the good times, and the bad.
“We’ve had it all. And so much more to come.
“Thank you, for being by my side. For being my strength when I was weak.
“For giving me the love I needed. For believing in me. In us.
“For being a part of this magical life. For giving me three spectacular children.
“You’ll never know how great my love for you is.”
Chezzi went on to describe Grant as “the kindest man with the biggest heart”.
“No one really knows how soft, how gentle you really are,” she wrote, calling him her “soulmate to the end”.
“I am in awe of you every single day.
“Not one moment passes where I don’t feel grateful to have found you in this lifetime.”
The outpouring of love had many of her followers swooning.
“What divine words,” one follower wrote.
“Please always share these moments with us all,” said another.
“Grant must be the luckiest man to share his life with you.”
One simply dropped the hashtag: #couplegoals.
